WHAT ARE SOME OF THE MEASURES CURRENTLY BEING USED TO MANAGE SOCIAL DISTANCING REQUIREMENTS WHEN PLAYING GOLF?
If your state/territory/local government is currently permitting the play of golf at your facility, and if you make the decision to keep your golf course open, we encourage you to consider every available measure to ensure social distancing is achieved at all times.
We are all in this together and we all have a responsibility, so please do what you can to avoid your facility being the cause of golf being shut down in your area (or the cause of a delay in people again being permitted to play golf in your area).

Many golf clubs around Australia have either re-opened, or are considering doing so, after recent state and territory-specific rulings or directives.
Golf Australia, while not wishing to act in a manner contrary to those specific rulings or directives, remains of the view that golf is a non-essential activity, a view which sits comfortably with the current Federal Government directive and rules to “stay at home” unless absolutely necessary.
Of course, Golf Australia is merely recommending that position to all clubs around Australia and ultimately we respect the right of the clubs to act in the way they see fit while complying with all social distancing requirements.

We are following updated information hourly/daily and we will continue to keep our channels of communication open to our members at all times. The Prime Minister announced today a new indoor gathering limit of a four square metre rule, for gatherings of less than 100 people. We believe it would be difficult to follow this directive in our events, even though our sport is played outdoors. The well being of our members, and all connected to our golfing world, are our top priorities.
With this in mind, the Management Committee has voted to cancel the 2020 Pennant season, which is due to commence on Friday 17 April.
