Well the rain didn't dampen the spirits of the 110 ladies representing 17 clubs who braved the weather in our 4BBB at Gailes.  There were incredible scores in both divisions.

Div 1 Winners:  Tracey Stephens/Wendy Caltabiano, Pacific GC.  Div 1 R/up:  Christine Courtney/Sylvia Joe, Pacific GC.   Div 13rd place:  Cheree Brown/Kerrie Willis, Gailes GC.  Div 2 Winners:  Jeanette Grudice/Kirsty James, Keperra Country GC, Div 2 R/up:  Gillian DiCorielo/Jung Lan Hovav, Keperra Country GC, Div 2 3rdplace:  Janice Morris/Liu Ping, Brisbane GC.

Thanks to our sponsor Vanity Fairways who provided the top 3 prizes for each division.  It was also time to start looking for a Foursomes partner for our upcoming District Event in May.  There are lots of opportunities to play more of our fantastic District courses coming up.  Good Golfing.

What a fantastic final for our 2021 Junior Pennants.  It was a nail-biter with a combined Keperra/Wantima team winning this years' final.  Our Junior Coordinator Sue couldn't be there but I know she would be proud of you all.  As Gabriel our BDLGA President said today, the game is in safe hands with such a talented group of young women representing their Clubs and District.  With ages starting from 10 years you all have shown incredible sportsmanship and for those that are ageing out of the juniors, we welcome you into our senior ranks.  We look forward to watching all of your achievements this year.

Chyloe Kurdas, the Female Engagement Senior Manager with Golf Australia gave an online presentation at the BDLGA Delegates' meeting on 5 March at McLeod Golf Club.  In it, she raised the bar for us to take ownership of golf for women and girls within our own clubs.  Her motivational speech is now available on our website.  It is highly recommended viewing for all of our members.

Get Into Golf

At the Delegates' meeting at McLeod CGC in March, Guest Speakers from Golf Australia were Michele Stanley and Judy Logan.  They updated the delegates and visitors on Get Into Golf, which has a well-represented average of 85% female new golfers attending.  This is a great opportunity to welcome new women into our clubs.  It is up and running again, and can be accessed through the Golf Australia website.
