Junior Golf with BDLGA
The BDLGA has a priority to introduce girls to the game of golf and nurture their skills and enjoyment of the game. Please note immediately below a copy of our Junior Player Profile Form which will be updated from time to time as event dates, venues and/or other details change.
To support our aim, the Junior Code of Conduct is enforced at all levels of junior participation – available on our RESOURCES page under BDLGA FORMS (please select form requiring signatures).
Objectives
- To increase the participation levels of junior girls throughout the BDLGA district.
- To maintain ongoing communication with parents about upcoming junior events that might be suitable for their daughters.
- To identify additional opportunities for junior girls that will extend their skills and knowledge of golf.
- To promote junior competitions and tournaments.
- To ensure a sound future for junior girls golf in the BDLGA district.
Activities undertaken by the BDLGA
- Annually, to select two teams for inter-district events. These are:
- the Junior Jug is an aggregate stroke event held over 3 days in conjunction with the Katherine Kirk Classic. The team consists of 3 players.
- the Sarah Jane Kenyon Challenge, a Match Play competition, which has a team of 8 girls.
- The Boys and Girls Junior Championships are organised by the BDGA in conjunction with the BDLGA. We encourage club Junior Coordinators, both throughout Queensland and interstate, to enter players in these Championships.
- Work with all BDLGA clubs to encourage them to provide beginner clinics for junior girls throughout the year.
- Endeavour to acquire more sponsors for Junior Girls’ golf.
