UPDATE- Brisbane 3-day lockdown

The Queensland government has updated it's restrictions on golf from 6pm tonight, Friday 8 January, until 6pm Monday 11 January  in the local government areas of Brisbane, Moreton Bay, Ipswich, Redlands and Logan.

Golf is a permitted as forms of exercise.

However, you must wear a mask and play with no more than one other person who does not live with you.  

You must not enter a clubhouse or other shared facilities.

Greater Brisbane 3-day lockdown

Earlier today the Queensland Premier announced that as of 6pm today, Friday 8 January until 6pm Monday 11 January, Greater Brisbane will go into a three-day lockdown (includes the council areas of Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich, Moreton and Redlands).

This lockdown requires all golfing activities including practice in the above mentioned local government areas to cease completely.

  • Golf cannot be played
  • Staff and volunteers deemed essential by the facility may attend to perform duties (i.e. green keepers, caterers etc.)
  • Clubhouses can provide take away food and home delivery services.

People living within these local government areas are not be able to play golf outside the lockdown area (no travelling to play).

COVID-19 Update for Queensland Clubs & Facilities 22/12/20

Golf Australia is writing to provide further assistance and guidance to Queensland golf clubs and facilities regarding the latest update from Queensland Governments relating to COVID-19 restrictions.

Over the weekend, the Premier made an announcement that all businesses have 72 hours to move away from paper-based check-ins when collecting contact tracing information.

“So we are giving a very clear message to our pubs, clubs and cafes right across Queensland, that you will have 72 hours to get your house in order and that means you must have QR Codes or you must have electronic devices in place otherwise you will be going back to the one per 4 square meter and people will not be able to stand up and enjoy their drinks”, the Premier said.
